Star Night

Two interactive silver pendants inspired by Telemark bunad’s embroidery were made in cooperation with Jon Nordby. (http://www.jonnor.com/)

The light is used to create a pattern projected onto the body of the wearer, extending outside the jewellery piece itself. Something with a small secret inside – touch the jewellery to see more. We used light to create a pattern projected onto the body of the wearer, extending outside the jewellery piece itself. Not only to create a conceptual artwork, but a wearable jewellery that can be used on special occasions.

The necessary technology is as hidden as possible. When the light is off, the object looks like an ordinary piece of jewellery. A soft touch on the front turns the light on and reveals the pattern of light – a surprise and a magical feeling. To keep focus on the light, the overall design of the jewellery object is minimalistic. The projected pattern of light is quite different from the patterns on jewellery itself. The light interacts with the body, changing as the person moves.
